Orchestra

It was created in 1943 under the direction of Joan Lamote de Grignon. Throughout its long musical life, highlights include international tours to France and England (1950), Italy and Turkey with Mstislav Rostropovich as soloist (1996), Germany (2002), and Austria and the Czech Republic with Joaquín Achúcarro on the piano (2008), as well as performances at the Schleswig-Holstein and Zurich’s Tage der Neuer Musik international festivals. The orchestra has been led by principal conductors H. von Benda, N. Annovazzi, H. Unger, J. Iturbi, E. García Asensio, Pedro Pirfano, García Navarro, Martínez Palomo, Benito Lauret, Manuel Galduf, Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, Yaron Traub, and Ramón Tebar.
